Fall Leaf Decoupage

Have you heard of decoupage?

• It’s “the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto an object in combination with special paint effects, gold leaf and other decorative elements.”
• For this decoupaged fall leaf pumpkin, the “decorative elements” are colorful, seasonal leaves that have fallen right in your own back yard!
• Using super glue products makes this project easy and fun.
• To do this project with kids, have them make paper cut-outs in leaf shapes.

To Create:

1. Paint like to paint your pumpkin before applying the leaves (optional.)
2. Once paint has dried completely, apply super glue to a small area where you will apply your leaves using a paint brush.
3. With your gloves on, press leaves in your desired pattern onto the pumpkin, avoiding leaves with thick stems.
4. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the glue for this project. It can be a little messier than others!
5. When you are done applying the leaves, add a second coat of super glue on top to seal the design.
6. Let dry.
